The Gowns

Gowns are one of my favourite pieces to create as there is so much freedom in the design and the inspiration could be anything. I often create the design and pattern by draping the fabric first to see what falls nicely and then work from there.

The Purple Gown

A pleated chiffong dress with a flowing skirt. The dress has spaghetti straps, rouched top and a low-cut back. Polyester-blend lining.

A black open-back dress with a white raw silk exploded collar. The dress has a rounded train and zipper closing. This dress was partially inspired by the silluetes of modern Schiaparelli.

The Red Dress

A red chiffong dress with a draped low back. The dress is created with panels for a more structured fit and then has a flowy skirt. This dress was originally made for a ball so I wanted the dress to have movement for dancing. The tight fitting top also allows the straps to hang as well off the shoulder as well.
